ELIGIBILITY

• Open to VSGA members of all ages.
• All participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA member club in good standing and have at least 10 valid scores posted to their scoring record.
• All participants must meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $200 by Monday, August 19, 2024.

• Entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition.
• The VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice fee with host club.

 

FORMAT

• 36-hole net stroke play competition (18 holes per day).
• The championship will be divided into the following divisions:
  • Men Ages 49 & under – approximately the White Tees (6,386 yards)
  • Men Ages 50-64 – approximately the Gold Tees (6,021 yards)
  • Men Ages 65 & Over – approximately the Gold/Red Combo Tees (5,683 yards)
  • Women ages 49 & Under with a HI of 9.9 or less – approximately the Gold/Red Combo Tees (5,683 yards)
  • Women ages 50 & Over or Players of any age with a HI of 10.0 or higher – approximately the Red Tees (5,014 yards)

 

 

FIELD SIZE/TOURNAMENT MAKE-UP

• The field will be limited to 24 players in each division (96 players total).
• Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt (past champions and division winners receive priority).
• Entries received after the field is full or after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list.
  • Alternates will be contacted in the order of receipt of entry if a spot becomes available.

 

HANDICAP

• The Handicap Index the day before the first day of competition will be used.
• Players will receive 95% of their Course Handicap.
• The maximum Playing Handicap for all players is 36.
• The Committee may modify a player’s Playing Handicap before or between rounds of the competition.

 

PRIZES

• Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Champion (may come from any division) and division winners.
• Additional prizes (based on number of entries in each division) will be awarded in each division.
